Well, i have been working in private sector more than 4years and recently joined Public Service after taking a FEW thougt....
It is maybe true that working in Private much more challenging with better paid... but most people are not aware that from millions employer on the world, there are only maybe thousand that can offer numeration package better or equal to what Public Service can offer.
If you ask me about job challenge... ermmm well~~~ for my opinion, each sector, job and employer offer job challenge on their own-unique ways... It just you to make it more/keep challenging or not..
But, after all... taking an example; engineer in private sector compared to engineer in public service is less possibilities of attending trial on court (just frequently at courts mammoth; maybe). Because most of engineer in private sector are not even recognized as an Engineer, plus most of them; their signature, are not affecting public directly.... Most importantly, their sign is not use for APPROVAL, instead, their sign just value for column PREPARE or CHECKED or VERIFIED...
When you are in Public Service, meaning that you are people with AUTHORITY... yes, AUTHORITY!
your sign is valuable (even there are people will try to duplicate your signature) and when u are signing on any documents meaning that you are ready for attending TRIAL possibly being JAILED...
For me, being an Engineer in Private Sector for 4 years is a WASTE!~~ my Engineering practice are hardly recognized by B.E.M neither I.E.M (since there ZERO accredited Professional Engineer at that company), the words "ENGINEER" are just another title (in a favorably ways) for TECHNICAL EXECUTIVE or maybe even can be considered as another title for TECHNICAL ASSISTANT.
So, it is all up to you to decide... if you says that Private can offer better salary, then you should also asked did the company willing to bear the medical cost of your mom, dad, wife and children without limit? How much possibility are your company willing to keep you with them until your retirement age? Did they are willing to pay for Gratuity and monthly pension when your retire after more than 25 years working with them?
Ask yourself, and choose wisely~~~~
