Gadis Melayu

I dont know whether you guys/gals know about this new reality program entitled GADIS MELAYU, in search for Malaysia's Last Malay Woman or sort of like it...i was bored at home yesterday and tune into tv9 (since there's no astro)...then this program was shown... i think it was the pioneer episode as the whole episode was during the audition....then you see the hopefulls from all around malaysia coming in to the audition claiming that they are the one the producers are looking for....

they were tested in several thing that the producer 'think' that is essential for gadis melayu. asked several question....what is their definition of gadis melayu and all.....asked how to wear kain batik.... asked of what kind of rempah is this and that etc.....heheehhe....someho

w i find everything about the whole thing or concept is amusing...

there you have this girl claiming that she is 'THE' gadis melayu they are looking for...wearing green colored contact lens....?????? i have nothing to say....

another one...when she was asked to recite doa makan....with full confident she started with bismillah but what came out from her mouth next send me laughing sampai tergolek golek atas lantai....she was reciting doa after azan....then she realise her mistake and laugh at herself....but then again....i know i had my fair share of reciting a wrong thing at a wrong time...but not throughout the whole nation....

then again...most of the girls who came in just wear baju kurung and very simple which i might had salute as their definition of gadis melayu is not overly done...but there are contestant who came in as if they were the royal princess of the old ages of kesultanan melayu....they look stunning (since they already have the looks) thrown in with some extragavant accessories....but then again that was soooo overly done....

my own definition of gadis melayu?
Melayu (confirm la muslim but with today's world, dunno), belum berkahwin (gadis mah..), sweet looking (no need to look like a supermodel), pleasant personality (i cant really define this), strong-willed (mahsuri & che siti wan kembang anyone??), soft spoken (think of vanidah imran in perempuan melayu terakhir)....dont know what else...

definitely gadis melayu....menawan....but to turn it into a reality tv program...hmmmm...i dont think so....coz it will end up making those girls look like a fool (remember Malaysia's Most Beautiful?)...then the definition for the real gadis melayu totally goes down the drain...just becoz of what had been potrayed in the screen....hmmm....but....vanidah imran in Perempuan Melayu Terakhir really suits the definition for gadis melayu...
